During my entire childhood, music was a very large part of who I was. It makes me who I am because of not just what I listen to, but what you can obtain from listening. Just recently I found this article on Yahoo, stating that music can help with you life span, which i found very intriguing. When I started coming to Iowa State University, I was introduced to so much new music and was so fascinated by what it could do. Just yesterday i was introduced to Sigur Ros, which is more of an electronic/pop style that is indeed great to study to and it made me think of how listening to that may not only help my studying but also my health as well. I found it fascinating that it stated that "music therapy was shown to significantly reduce anxiety and aggression, which was very true; in my case, a college freshman. It definitely seems true because to a certain extent for some people it can help them calm themselves down or keep them relaxed. It is so fascinating to know that music can help keep people calm or more focused whether it be a final exam, or just doing homework, and that it truly can help your health to put your mindset on the right path for life.
