A Modest Proposal Response

I was disgusted with Jonathon Swift's A Modest Proposal because swift wants to have a genocide of little children in return for saving the working class of Ireland.It does not seem right to use people as breeding machines, much like the book The Giver in where people are used the same way. It not only mistreats children but also women. At the time, it may have seemed logical but given the circumstances it seems very desperate and going too far. Having a slaughter of children is just wrong, and should never be tolerated by modern day society, no matter how desperate it may seem.
